No Other Name Launches "Let It Start With Me" National "I Pledge" Campaign
Wednesday, February 15, 2012
Acclaimed Curb Records vocal group No Other Name announces the launch of its “Let It Start With Me” national “I Pledge” campaign. The campaign seeks to mobilize believers to follow The Great Commission, with No Other Name offering fans a practical way to get involved via its annual mission trip this summer.
A longtime proponent of missions, No Other Name’s ministry platform includes encouraging others to make a difference by sharing the Gospel in the world around them. Consequently, the “Let It Start With Me” campaign urges fans to be the catalyst for change by committing to give to missions, pray for missionaries, or go themselves. Interested participants are asked to make a “pledge” online via www.letitstartwithme.com and share their stories.
“We are always encouraging folks to find out how God is moving in the world around them and to join His efforts,” says No Other Name’s Laura Allen. “That can mean anything from volunteering in one’s own church or community to traveling to a far-away place to share the love of Christ with someone who's never heard His name. We hope this campaign will give them -- and us -- a way to share what God is doing in others’ lives and to hold each other accountable.”
At www.letitstartwithme.com, No Other Name provides pledge ideas and other possible points of action locally and abroad. Among those is the option to join No Other Name on its annual fan mission trip.
For the last two years, the group has sponsored an annual trip, inviting fans to participate in outreach areas like Managua, Nicaragua and Sao Paulo, Brazil. This year’s trip will be a first for No Other Name, as the group has chosen Nashville, Tenn. as its mission field.
“In The Great Commission, Jesus tells us to take his message of hope to the nations,” says Sam Allen of No Other Name. “Today, the nations have come to us. For reasons ranging from political strife to religious persecution, millions of foreign refugees have immigrated to major U.S. cities, bringing with them their language, culture, and belief systems. The ends of the earth are now just a few blocks from our front door.”
He continues, “It is for this reason that we have decided our 2012 summer mission trip will be in the city of Nashville. We will be serving specific international populations in a variety of ways. Nashville includes hundreds of people groups, hundreds of languages spoken, and thousands of people who need to hear the Gospel.”
