STORY BEHIND THE SONG: "Breakthrough"

In Psalm 32:1-5 David states, "Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be, you get a fresh start, your slate's wiped clean. Count yourself lucky, God holds nothing against you, and you're holding nothing back from Him. When I kept it all inside my bones turned to powder, my words became day long groans. The pressure never let up, all the juices of my life dried up. Then I let it all out, I said I'll make a clean breast of my failures to God. Suddenly the pressure was gone. My guilt dissolved, my sin disappeared," (Message) and a breakthrough took place!

Like David, my breakthrough happened with the unveiling of my heart, the uncovering of my soul, and the unmasking of shadows. John 10:10 says, "Christ came to give us life, and not just life, but an abundant life!" During the months leading up to the orchestration of "Breakthrough," I was, for the first time, understanding who I was in Christ. "I am justified, completely forgiven, and made righteous." (Romans 5:1) "I died with Christ, and died to sin's rule over my life." (Romans 6:1-6) "I am forever free from condemnation." (Romans 8:1) These revelations and words of truth catapulted me into the life that Christ had been preparing for me all along. I broke through into His perfectly ordered and ordained steps for my life!
