Songsmith Josh Wilson comes out swinging with his latest effort, a beautiful kaleidoscope of smartly-cast lyrics (especially on “Behind the Beauty”) and buoyant guitar backings. He ties it all together with a rich and colorful vocal, which sounds more polished and controlled than on his previous efforts. He has the makings of a hit after hit-man, most notably on the bluegrass influenced “Shine on Us” and “Forest Fire,” where every musical aspect is flawless. The fact that he played over 20 instruments himself sweetens the effort that much more.
