Chris Tomlin Takes Home First GRAMMY Award

Referred to by Time as "most likely the most often sung artist anywhere," and known for being a songwriter for the generations, sixsteprecords’ Chris Tomlin picked up his first GRAMMY® Award, winning Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for And If Our God Is For Us….

Tomlin was nominated for three awards, “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album,” “Best Contemporary Christian Music Song” and “Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance,” leading the nominations in categories within the genre. The twice-nominated song “I Lift My Hands,” which was co-written by Louie Giglio and Matt Maher along with Tomlin, is found on the aforementioned GRAMMY® winning And If Our God Is For Us…. Impacting radio on February 24th, Tomlin is featured on the first single, “White Flag,” from the upcoming album PASSION: White Flag. Recorded live at Passion 2012 and featuring fellow sixstepsrecords artists David Crowder* Band, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels and Kristian Stanfill, along with the voices of more than 42,000 college students at Atlanta's Georgia Dome, PASSION: White Flag will release worldwide on March 13th. White Flag is the follow-up record to Passion: Here For You, which debuted at No. 11 on Billboard’s Top 200 when it released in March 2011 selling over 30,000 units and garnering the No. 1 spot on the Christian Albums Chart.
