DOUG & KIM'S CHRISTMAS NOVELTY SONG FOR 2004 Thanks to the thousands of you that voted in our novelty song contest this year. The winner (for the 2nd straight year) is the song selected by Kim "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas". Despite a strong showing for the cow song "We Wish you a Dairy Christmas" - the hippo squeaked past with a scant 7% victory (1260 to 1094) ... Doug says "Just want till next year!" In the meantime - if you are a hippo fan - here's an interesting web site we found - http://soe.hyperchat.com/newchat/u/yummy/~soe/hippoFAQ.htm
For those interested in the "It's a Cow Christmas" CD - you have to be lucky and try to find a used copy that might be sold on Amazon or Ebay. If you need a copy of the Hippo song - it's available on various CDs (including Dr Demento) - check Amazon or other favorite source ...
And to those song that didn't make it - here's a list of what we considered and who did them - we do not make them available so find them at your own risk:
Chipmunks roasting on a open fire - Bob Rivers (we did edit some of this song - so if you find the original listen first before the kids do)
Nuttin' for Christmas - Stan Freberg
Hotel Can't Afford ya - Apologetix www.Apologetix.com
December 5 or 6 BC - Apologetix
